Meet our 2024 Recipients of the $2,500 Sandy Rasmussen Scholarship
We are excited to announce the recipients of our 7th Annual $2,500 Sandy Rasmussen Scholarship Award! Congratulations to Carley Haider and Jacob Palkowski, both of Dove Healthcare - Bloomer.
This scholarship was created in honor and appreciation of Sandy Rasmussen, a dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate employee of Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home for over 50 years! Sandy served in a variety of roles over the years, from resident assistant to nutritional services director. She has also served her community through countless hours of fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association and American Cancer Society.
Scholarship Committee Chair Emily Gudis shared, "Carley and Jacob emulate Sandy's compassion and energy. We are honored to be able to help them advance their education and career in healthcare." /p>
Carley, nutritional services director, is enrolled in the certified dietary manager program, while Jacob, an LPN, is completing the nursing program at CVTC. Both have achieved Dove Healthcare's signature HomeGROWN status during their time with us.
Administrator Erica Salsbury of Dove Healthcare - Bloomer and Bloomer Assisted Living had the honor of presenting the scholarship award to Carley and had this to say, "Carley's passion and dedication are obvious, not just to the residents, but also her department. I have watched her step up to help other departments in times of need, even when her plate was clearly already full. Carley's dedication shines. She is driven to provide our residents with a better quality of life that includes filling their days with the foods they desire. Carley, I am honored to present to you the Sandy Rasmussen Scholarship. You are so deserving of this. Thank you for having such passion and drive to continue your education and to learn and grow as a certified dietary manager."
Dove Healthcare - Bloomer Director of Nursing Jeni Greenwell had this to say about Jacob, "I have had the pleasure of working with Jacob for the past four years. I have witnessed his caring and compassionate personality. I have been fortunate enough to witness the growth Jacob has made while working as a CNA, nurse tech, and LPN. He excels at teamwork and helping to foster strong team morale. He is always willing to help whenever needed. Jacob also excels at putting the needs of the residents first and possesses a great rapport with them. He displays outstanding character and integrity."
